In the series The Amphora Era, I explores layers—physical and symbolic—as traces of time. Rooted in ancient classical form yet reaching toward the futuristic, they hold a tension between past and becoming. Clay coils are stretched to the brink of collapse, caught mid-motion and suspended, each layer wrapped into the next. They echo the way we hold one another—how stability is often collective, how fragility is carried. Through the integration of cross-media techniques and craftsmanship, the amphorae are reimagined with leather coil-like elements that resemble wearable vessels, blurring the boundaries between sculpture, object, and fashion while challenging traditional perceptions of ceramic form and function.

My heritage is Greek. From this culturally rich legacy I have drawn inspiration from ancient Greek vases. In this piece I look to blend the ancient with the futuristic. The finish on the amphora is enamel spray paint. Toward the top is the introduction of colour. This is to represent the progress of each generation to where we are now – today. We are full of life, vibrancy and colour.
